Teela is a lively beagle full of personality and joy. You’ll see her take on the role of a belly dancer, wiggling with happiness, and her charming facial expressions are sure to make you smile. In her foster home, she has shown her friendly nature and adaptability. Teela gets along well with a senior beagle but seems more focused on human companionship, so a home where affection is a priority will suit her best. She definitely has a high energy level and, while her leash skills are getting better, a fenced yard would be ideal for her playful spirit. True to her beagle nature, she loves to explore outdoors with her nose leading the way, and she gets excited at the sight of squirrels or bunnies, likely chasing them if given the chance, so she may not be the best fit for homes with cats. On neighborhood walks, Teela enjoys meeting new friends, especially those who might have treats in their pockets. She has been great around children and is doing well with her house training. At night, she loves cuddling up with her foster dad. Teela has been crated when left alone for up to two hours and handles it well. While she plays with toys, she doesn’t get possessive over them and is highly motivated by food. Due to a heartworm condition, Teela is awaiting treatment but should be ready for a sleepover by mid-September. This delightful girl is eager to find her forever home filled with cuddles and care.
