About Macie
Macie is a spirited beagle who navigates her world with finesse, despite being vision impaired. She may not see clearly, but her sharp nose helps her read every corner of her environment. Macie is a delightful character, known for her enthusiastic chasing of squirrels, accompanied by her charming howling bark. When she's excited, her big ears flap like they might take flight, and her tail spins whimsically. Beyond her playful side, she's deeply affectionate and loves snuggles and kisses, though she tends to get a tad jealous if other dogs receive attention first. Macie has created strong bonds with her foster sister, as they enjoy walks, sleep, and sharing toys and bones without any possessiveness. Having a canine sibling in her forever home would be ideal. While she is curious about other dogs, she’s understandably cautious due to her vision impairment. Macie hasn't interacted much with cats or children yet. This high-energy girl thrives on playtime after a day of relaxation, particularly loving enrichment toys, walks, and hikes filled with alluring scents. She's also very food motivated, so keep an eye on those countertops! With regular outdoor trips and patience, she's making strides in her house training but does prefer that her humans are home often. Recently, she underwent dental work and is heartworm positive, with treatment scheduled soon. Macie will be available for sleepovers in early August. Your new best friend is just one click away.
