About Heidi
Heidi is a gentle and timid Siberian Husky on a journey towards finding her forever home. Rescued after a court-ordered surrender, she has overcome many challenges, including recovering from FHO surgery to repair her hip. Now, she needs a calm and patient home where she can truly relax and blossom. Completely housebroken and crate trained, Heidi enjoys spending time in a fenced yard where she can explore safely. Though easily startled by loud noises or fast movements, her deep curiosity shines through with gentle encouragement. She gets along well with larger, calm dogs and prefers a steady canine companion who won't overwhelm her. Heidi’s progress has been slow but profound; she used to only eat behind closed doors but has now started eating openly and accepting treats with her foster nearby. She’s learning to manage her anxiety and has shown no resource guarding. However, loud and boisterous children would likely be too overwhelming for her. In her quiet home, Heidi reveals her charming personality through small, heartwarming gestures—a shy nose bump, a gentle head tilt, and the way she leans into pets. Outside, she enjoys about 1.5 to 2 hours of exploration daily, needing a secure environment to feel safe. Her ideal forever family will understand her need for tranquility, and they will love her for the unique spirit she is. With time and patience, Heidi will show you just how rewarding it can be to nurture a dog like her. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
