About Artemis

Artemis, also known as Moo, is a seven-year-old female German Shepherd living in Pleasant Grove, CA. She’s a gentle, affectionate dog who tends to be shy at first but warms up quickly. Artemis is house trained and has always been an indoor companion. She’s up to date on vaccinations and enjoys spending time with people, especially children, making her a nice fit for families. Artemis is not spayed yet and whoever adopts her must agree to have her spayed within the first 90 days of adoption; a refundable deposit is required as part of this arrangement. While she’s friendly with people, Artemis is currently fearful and defensive around other dogs due to a recent traumatic encounter. She previously lived harmoniously with another dog, so with patience and the right environment, she may regain her confidence. Artemis does not get along with cats and should not be placed in a home with them. She’s experienced some separation anxiety since her incident but is doing well on anti-anxiety medication. Walks are a highlight for her—she has impressive leash manners and a reliable off-leash recall. Car rides, however, make her rather anxious and vocal. Artemis also enjoys playing with plush toys, fetch, and exploring shallow water. The current owners are sadly rehoming her due to a family health issue involving allergic reactions to pet dander. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and can help Artemis rebuild her trust, she could be a wonderful addition to your family. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
