PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. “Duke” is an approx 80-lb, 6-yo neutered male GSD who is friendly, energetic and playful. Duke is in good health, up-to-date on core vaccinations, and microchipped. Duke loves meeting new people, whether at home or out and about. He loves children, though he mighyt be a little too rambunctious for toddlers. Duke is great with other dogs, though he can take awhile to warm up to strange dogs. He loves small dogs and presently lives with two of them. Duke is NOT good with cats. Duke is housetrained but lives outside primarily. He also sleeps outside. He gets restless when inside for extended periods. [Note from GSRSV: Duke might very well make a smooth transition to being a primarily inside dog once in a new home.] Duke is fine on leash after settling down following the initial few minutes of pulling eagerly. He has good recall when no distractions are present. He has not received any formal obedience training. Duke is somewhat restless in a vehicle. He does not have much experience being taken for rides. Duke likes to play fetch and keep-away. He is not a fan of water. Duke’s person (Zach) adopted him four years ago from the Stockton shelter. He is now seeking a new home for Duke because his grandmother, who recently had hip surgery, moved in with him and Zach is concerned that Duke might injure her in his exuberance.
