About Hildi
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Hildi, a 3-year-old spayed female German Shepherd (or German Shepherd mix) who is currently in foster care in Sacramento, California. This affectionate, playful, and well-mannered girl is healthy, microchipped, and up to date on her core vaccinations. Hildi made her shelter entrance wearing an "Emotional Support Animal" harness—a fitting accessory given her loving nature! She is very affectionate and cuddly with her people, without being overly clingy. While initially cautious around new people and sometimes prone to barking, Hildi quickly warms up when she realizes new friends are kind. She’s done well meeting children (including two 10-year-olds) and gets along beautifully with other large dogs in her foster home, using clear and readable body language. Hildi hasn’t been around cats since her rescue, but she is perfectly house and crate trained. Chewing is reserved for her own toys, not your shoes! She has completed two training classes, knows basic commands, and is treat-motivated and eager to continue training with a patient adopter. Leash walks come easily for Hildi—unless distracted by other dogs, at which point she may become reactive. Her desire to learn and food motivation, however, make her very trainable. On top of being an ace student, she loves interactive playtime, especially with balls and toys, and enjoys car rides. Hildi is an ideal blend of active adventurer and calm house guest, who narrowly escaped euthanasia and now awaits her forever home. Click apply to start the adoption process.
