About Milady
Milady is a 3–4-year-old, about 60-pound bundle of devotion who truly shines in a home environment. She has been with the rescue for a while, and what stands out most about her is how deeply people-focused she is. Milady’s favorite place in the world is wherever you happen to be. She’s the type of dog who will happily supervise you in the kitchen, keep you company while you fold laundry, and then settle into her bed nearby so she can stay close. She is affectionate, gentle, and loves physical closeness, especially face rubs and quiet time with her people. Milady takes food gently from your hand, tolerates face handling well, and enjoys chewy treats without being destructive with household items. She is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and already knows basic cues like sit, come here, no, and “go lay down,” which she happily follows by heading straight to her bed. She does well in the car and enjoys little outings and treats along the way. Milady does have some puppy-like play nipping that is not aggressive in nature, and she will do best with a patient adopter who is willing to continue gentle, consistent redirection. She needs to be the only dog in the home and would thrive with someone who enjoys having a constant companion, such as a person who works from home or is retired. A calm household with older children, if any, would be the best fit for her. Milady is heartworm positive and has already begun treatment. All heartworm-related care will be covered until she tests negative. Milady is looking for a forever home where she can be someone’s steady, loyal shadow. She doesn’t need much to be happy—just consistency, kindness, and a spot by your side. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
