Buzz is ready for his next chapter. When Buzz was first rescued, he was extremely shy and deeply unsure of people. Human interaction felt overwhelming, and his instinct was to keep his distance whenever possible. He had been surviving outside through the freezing winter, living under a porch for weeks alongside another dog who became his source of comfort during those frightening days. One thing was clear from the very beginning — Buzz loves other dogs. That companionship helped him endure the cold and uncertainty, and having another dog nearby still brings him a sense of safety. Now that Buzz is safe, his companion has already moved on to a foster home, while Buzz has been working closely with a trainer to help him learn that people can be gentle, safe, and kind. Slowly but surely, something wonderful has started to happen. Buzz has begun to open up. He now allows handling, seeks out affection, and is discovering just how good it feels to be loved. The once-shy boy who avoided people is starting to lean into pets and cuddles — and he’s even been known to look a little disappointed when the snuggles stop. Buzz will need a patient, understanding home willing to give him time to adjust as he transitions into a new environment. New places can still feel a bit scary at first, but he has already shown how capable he is of learning and trusting when given the chance. He would do especially well in a home with another friendly, confident dog who can help show him the ropes and continue building his confidence. Buzz has already come so far from the frightened dog he once was. Now he just needs someone willing to take the next step with him and show him that the love he’s begun to trust is here to stay. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
