Meet Lucci — a boy you don’t just meet, but remember. Lucci is the kind of dog whose sweetness feels almost overwhelming in the best way. Gentle, soulful, and incredibly affectionate, he wants nothing more than to be close to his person — soaking up pets, reassurance, and the comfort of knowing he’s safe. And when he feels that safety, he gives his whole heart right back. He’s been decompressing beautifully and showing us more of his personality each day. Watching him learn how to play — really play — has been something special. There’s a softness to Lucci, but there’s also a quiet resilience. With positive encouragement, he lights up. Peanut butter and kibble don’t hurt either — those are instant motivation. Lucci can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and bonds deeply. Daily walks have helped him build confidence, and he thrives on routine, patience, and consistency. He’s still working through some anxiety around being alone, riding in the car, and spending time in the crate, so he’ll need a home willing to continue that gentle guidance. Because he loves his people so much, he would do best as the only pet, where he can soak up all the attention and feel secure in his place. Lucci doesn’t need perfection. He doesn’t need a loud or busy home. He just needs someone steady, kind, and present — someone who understands that love and patience change everything. In the right home, he will continue blossoming into the happy, confident boy we already know he’s becoming. Lucci is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can finally settle in and stay. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
