About Cowboy
Cowboy is ready for his forever home. Estimated to be about one to two years old, Cowboy is still very much a puppy at heart. He is full of life, energy, and enthusiasm for everything around him. He prances when he’s excited, approaches the world with curiosity, and brings a contagious joy to every room he enters. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you active, laughing, and engaged, Cowboy is exactly that kind of companion. He is extremely dog friendly and especially loves play wrestling with other energetic dogs. He would thrive in a home with another playful, confident dog to run and romp with, though he could also succeed as an only pet if his people are committed to providing plenty of daily exercise, training, and enrichment. Cowboy is nearly fully housebroken with a consistent schedule and will alert when he needs to go out. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night. Cowboy already knows several basic cues, including sit, stay, lay down, and shake, and he is very food motivated, which makes training fun and effective. He enjoys car rides and adventures, and he is deeply affectionate with his people, offering lots of kisses and close contact. At home, he loves toys, though he can get destructive if bored and is still learning good play manners with other dogs. He may counter surf if given the chance and pulls on leash due to excitement and strength, so continued training and structure will be important for him to thrive. He does best with sturdy, older children who can handle his enthusiasm, as his excitement alone could easily knock over very young kids. Cowboy is not a good fit for a home with cats, as he finds them far too exciting and would love to chase them. Cowboy is not a couch potato. He wants to be part of whatever is happening and thrives in an active, engaged home that enjoys daily walks, playtime, and training. He is joyful, affectionate, and full of personality. With the right family, Cowboy will be an incredibly fun, loyal, and loving companion. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
