About Blossom
Blossom is a young, spirited Great Dane with a non-stop goofy streak, a snuggly nature, and a big, loving heart. At just about two years old, she’s all legs and personality—quick to play with her foster siblings (another Great Dane, a greyhound, and an old pittie mix) and happiest when roughhousing with a sturdy canine buddy. A fenced yard is a must, as Blossom is a dedicated yard explorer who loves to patrol for squirrels or sprawl out in any cool patch of grass. She’s also a serious cuddler, claiming her spot on the couch or curling into a donut on your bed. Blossom thrives in a home where someone works from home, but she handles alone time well too—she’s house trained, polite indoors, and doesn’t chew things up, though she does stay in a secure dog-proof room when alone. When guests drop by, she turns on the charm, quickly vying for attention or showing off her trademark silly grin with her lips stuck on her teeth. Mealtime gets her bouncing like a kangaroo, and though she’s eager, she patiently waits her turn for treats and doesn’t guard her food. This girl has a powerful nose and loves tracking down rodents—a true hunter at heart. She gets along very well with other dogs after a calm introduction, though she needs space around unfamiliar, small fluffy dogs. Leash walks are a work in progress: Blossom gets excitable around new dogs on walks, but she’s manageable with some patient guidance. Her background before rescue is a mystery—she came in as a stray from Alabama and proved to be a stellar mom to a litter of nine. She’s healthy, vet-cleared, with a little itchiness they’re figuring out. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Blossom is ready for her forever home. Note that you’ll need to pick her up in person in Pensacola, FL—no transports with this rescue. Click apply to start the adoption process.
