About Jersey

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Jersey might show a few signs of salt and pepper on her muzzle, but don't be fooled—she is full of sass, energy, and a huge heart ready to love her people. At about 7 years old, Jersey found her way from a local shelter, and despite a year in rescue, she's still dreaming of her forever home. Currently living with two other Danes in her foster home, she prefers calm canine companions and would thrive either as an only pet or with other laid-back, mature dogs. Jersey likes to be the diva in charge and isn’t a fan of hyperactive or overly enthusiastic pups. She hasn't interacted with cats, but due to a bit of a prey drive, a feline-free home would be best. Jersey is a treat enthusiast and never misses a meal. Though she arrived underweight, she quickly bounced back and now looks forward to every bite. She is happiest around her people and loves to snuggle, but also enjoys her own bed when it’s time to unwind. House and kennel trained, Jersey rides well in the car and enthusiastically loads up for a ride. A fenced yard is ideal for her zoomies, though she walks nicely on a leash and could do well with consistent, daily walks—she just needs a secure plan because her recall isn't reliable. This girl loves basking in the sun and is always on the lookout for "stranger danger," alerting you to wildlife visitors. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and free of heartworms following successful treatment. Jersey is currently fostered in the Pensacola, FL area, and interested adopters must be willing to travel to meet and adopt her in person. Out of respect for the foster family’s privacy, meet-and-greets are arranged only after an approved application. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
