Meet Whiskey Whiskey is a 4-year-old shepherd mix with a truly one-of-a-kind look and a heart that’s just as special. She came to us from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, where she was found struggling to survive with a litter of puppies. Despite her difficult start to life, Whiskey has always had a gentle spirit and a quiet resilience. She has patiently waiting for a home of her own and a place where she can finally feel safe, loved, and understood. Shy and sweet by nature, Whiskey hasn’t experienced much of the world, so new environments, loud sounds, and especially unfamiliar men can be a little overwhelming for her. But she’s not aggressive, just cautious and soft-hearted. With time and patience, she warms up and reveals her affectionate side. She absolutely adores other dogs and finds so much comfort and confidence in their presence. A home with another kind, stable dog would do wonders for her as she continues to grow. As one of our longest residents, Whiskey has been overlooked for far too long, but we know her perfect match is out there. She’s looking for a calm, patient home, ideally with a female adopter or someone who understands the journey of earning a shy dog’s trust. A secure yard is important, and a canine companion is a big bonus. Whiskey may not rush into your arms on day one, but when she chooses you, her loyalty runs deep.
