Say hello to beautiful Nessie! This sweet shepherd mix was one dozens we rescued from the Lucerne colony with our friends @thespayceproject. We didn’t realize at the time that she was pregnant and we had quite the surprise when she started to give birth during one of our Saturday night shifts. After several hours, she gave birth to six beautiful babies. They were quite the magical gift! Nessie’s pups have found their own homes, and their amazing mama deserves her own home, too! We think Nessie is a 1-2 year old shepherd mix. She’s around 50 pounds now, but she is a bit underweight since she had come from a situation where she was near starving and yet still trying to provide nutrients for her pups 😭 We are giving her extra little treats and lunch to help her gain a little bit more weight back. For a dog from such a scary environment, we are pleasantly surprised how trusting she has become in such a short period of time. We have seen her come out of her shell and turn into such a wonderful dog.
