Griffin is a beautiful, intelligent German Shepherd mix with soulful eyes and a resilient spirit. At just nine months old, he's already overcome more than most dogs will in a lifetime. He was rescued from a heartbreaking situation. He was part of a large group of neglected and mistreated dogs living on a property in the desert. Griffin was one of the lucky ones who made it out, and now he's learning, day by day, what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. Despite his rough start, Griffin is incredibly curious, playful, and smart. He’s currently thriving in a loving foster home where he’s gaining confidence, trust, and learning what it means to be part of a home. He adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion who can show him the ropes. He’s also very friendly with people, he greets everyone he meets with a polite sniff and a sweet lick on the hand. While he hasn’t quite figured out snuggles and affection yet, he loves being near people and wants to be part of the family. Griffin is potty trained and very quick to learn! He even taught himself how to sit just by watching the other dogs! He’s also been great at learning and respecting boundaries. He already knows that outside is for playtime and inside is for quiet time and relaxation. Mornings and evenings are his favorite times to play, and during the day, he’s perfectly content to nap and take it easy. Griffin is highly food-motivated, which makes training easier. While he hasn’t started leash work yet, it’s on the horizon, and with his eagerness to learn, he’s sure to catch on quickly. For now, he’ll need a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore, play, and burn off energy. Griffin would do best with someone who’s ready to build a bond with a young, eager-to-learn dog who is still discovering what it means to be a pet.
