About Buster
Buster is a young, large-boned German Shepherd mix who brings out the best in everyone around him. At just a year old, he tips the scales around 80 lbs and is still filling out. Buster’s energy is balanced by an affectionate and eager-to-please nature. Raised with five children (ages 3 through 7), he’s proved himself a great companion for kids, though his enthusiasm requires a little supervision around very small children. When meeting new people, Buster’s excitement is front and center, but he settles quickly—a sure sign of his good instincts. Other dogs are a huge plus in Buster’s book. He thrives on canine company and would be happiest in a home with another playful, young dog. Cat compatibility is untested, but a dog-savvy feline could be a fit if there’s already another dog to keep Buster busy. He’s house trained with access to a dog door and has shown a knack for picking up new routines fast, though he’s still ironing out a few bad habits like occasional counter-surfing and chewing. Leash skills need work, but he already knows how to sit for treats and loves car rides and pond swims. Buster is ready-made for active life and would slot right into a family who’s able to match his zest. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Buster
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Buster, as a German Shepherd mix, does best in an environment where he has plenty of space to move and mental stimulation—ideally in a home with a yard and active people. His playful nature thrives in family settings that can keep him engaged.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Buster would benefit greatly from a home with a large fenced yard or regular access to open outdoor areas. German Shepherds like him enjoy room to run and play, especially because Buster is energetic and playful.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Yes, Buster’s breed is generally great with children, and Buster himself has lived comfortably with kids aged 3 to 7. His playful energy is best matched with families who understand the exuberance of a big, young dog.
