About Tango

They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Tango is a 5-year-old Husky mix who’s been through a lot, but is proving to be a total sweetheart. Once on the shelter euthanasia list due to a brief incident with a leash, she quickly showed her true colors as a gentle and affectionate companion. During evaluation, Tango entered and exited her kennel calmly, welcomed all the affection she received, and displayed no reactivity to other dogs. She enjoys meeting new people, wagged her tail cheerfully during introductions, and allows gentle handling—even a teeth check! Her polite manners extend to sitting nicely, taking treats gently, and walking beautifully on leash. One bad day almost cost her everything, but she’s eager for a fresh start. In her foster home, Tango continues to blossom. She’s mellow, affectionate, and loves her daily walks. Whether relaxing with her people or curling up in a lap for a belly rub, she thrives on love and attention. Though she can be playful, Tango sometimes shows a desire to be the leader among other dogs, so she may prefer being the only pet or living with calm companions. Protective with her food, she needs a home that understands her boundaries—especially if there are children (ideally ages 3+ who respect those needs). Thankfully, she responds very well to verbal guidance and redirection. Mealtime, tasty treats, belly rubs, and walks are some of her favorite joys. Tango experienced some hindlimb lameness that required a neurological consult and MRI, which revealed an infection in her spine. After treatment with antibiotics, she is thriving and feeling much better. The infection was challenging and may require long-term antibiotics, a topic the rescue will happily discuss with interested adopters. Tango would excel in either an active or mellow household, as long as she enjoys her walks and receives plenty of affection. While she lives with both small and large dogs in her foster home, she will do best as an only pet or with animals that respect her space. Her compatibility with cats is untested. If you’re ready to offer Tango the loving home she deserves, she’s eager to become your devoted companion. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
