About Tango
Tango is a 5-year-old Husky mix who’s been through a tough journey and come out the other side as an affectionate, mellow dog. She was nearly euthanized at a shelter for snapping at a leash during a stressful moment, but every other note painted her as a gentle, sweet companion, and that’s exactly what she’s shown since landing in foster care. Tango enters and exits her kennel with no fuss, welcomes pets, and even lets people check her teeth without complaint. She sits politely, takes treats gently, and walks beautifully on leash. In her foster home, she’s blossomed into a true cuddle bug—she loves lounging with her people, climbing into a lap, or settling in for a belly rub. Tango enjoys her walks and is playful at times, but she likes to be in charge with other dogs, so she may prefer a home as the only pet or with calm companions. She’s protective of her food and needs a home where her boundaries, especially during mealtime, are respected. Verbal corrections work well with her—she responds quickly and is eager to please. She’s currently living with both small and large dogs and may be a good fit for households with respectful children over age three. Tango recently overcame a spinal infection that required a neurological consult and MRI. Thanks to the right antibiotics, she’s recovering well and feeling much better. Ongoing or long-term antibiotics may be needed, and details will be shared with interested adopters.
