Bonita, also known as Miss Bonita Pepita, has had quite the journey. Abandoned with her siblings and mom in an orchard in Eastern Washington, she’s found herself safe with the help of Yakima Valley Pet Rescue. Despite her rocky start, Bonita is sweet and affectionate, ready to become a cherished companion. She shows a gentle caution around new people and situations, seeking reassurance from those she trusts. It’s heartwarming to see her playful spirit emerge as she basks in the sun or explores the outdoors—she’s poised to be an excellent hiking and camping partner. Bonita currently enjoys the company of her temporary husky mix brother and has been friendly with the four cats in her foster home. She is crate-trained and making good strides in potty training, and she’s eager to learn basic commands. Ideally, her new home should have a securely fenced yard and previous experience with large breeds is preferable. She would thrive in a family dedicated to her training and socialization.
