About Ansel

Ansel is a 5-year-old, neutered male Labrador Retriever who tips the scales at 78 pounds. Having spent the last four years with his family, he had a different start with a breeder in Sacramento. Originally, he was taken in with his brother in hopes of training them for hunting, but that proved challenging. Now, due to a recent divorce, his family is seeking a new home for him where he can thrive. Ansel embodies the loyal and affectionate spirit of Labradors. He loves to be close to his people, often leaning in or cuddling up for warmth. He's crate trained and enjoys spending time there, and he's fully house trained, knowing commands such as sit, stay, and come. His zest for fetch keeps him active, and he's always ready for a game or a trip to the beach. While he's generally well-mannered, Ansel should be in a home with older kids due to his size and playful nature. He doesn’t get along with cats or small animals, as he does have a strong chase instinct. An active family that can commit to his daily exercise and continued training will help him become the best version of himself. Ansel is healthy with no known issues, vaccinated, and happy. If you’re in search of a cuddly, adventure-loving companion, Ansel could be the right fit for your family. Ready to make Ansel a part of your life? Click apply to start the adoption process.
