About Dale
Dale is currently in a foster home in San Antonio and ready to pack his bags for a forever home—or another foster—outside Texas. This two-year-old lab mix weighs about 70 pounds and has bounced back beautifully from a previous leg surgery. Now, he moves with confidence and strength. Dale is an all-around friendly dog who gets along with kids, other dogs, and even cats (though he tends to ignore the latter). He’s in his happy place on car rides or out exploring on a good hike, but he’s equally content to nap and chill with his people. You’ll find that Dale is house trained, leash trained, and knows basic commands like sit and down. He’ll settle in a crate but would rather keep you company. The soft, velvety feel of his coat is an extra bonus. He thrives on affection—this is a dog who’ll make you feel good just by being close. Dale is searching for a committed household where he can really plug in and feel at home. His ideal setup includes a fenced yard and people of any age—whether you’re looking for a playful adventure buddy for your kids, a second dog, or a calm companion for quiet nights in. Dale can be left alone, but he prefers company; if he’s isolated for long, he’ll go looking for someone to love, not out of anxiety, but from his social, loving temperament. If you are ready to share your days with a loyal, easygoing, social dog, you just may hit the jackpot with Dale. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
