About Precious In Ga
Precious is a stunning Pyr girl—truly a looker—with a long, silky-soft coat that perfectly matches her gentle, elegant nature. She has overcome a difficult past, having been found abandoned in a home with another dog and likely used for breeding and confined for much of her life, yet she remains incredibly loving and trusting. Housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained, Precious has wonderful house manners and an easygoing personality; she’s as close to perfect as they come. With a moderate-to-low activity level, she’s just as happy relaxing as she is enjoying a leisurely stroll, and she’s content in a home with a 4-foot fence since she isn’t a climber or escape artist—she simply loves being near her people. Precious gets along beautifully with other dogs, (but can happily live as an only dog), and is indifferent to cats and other animals. She does well with children, including young kids, and while she may be a bit shy at first due to her past, once she bonds, she loves deeply and wholeheartedly. She’s not a barker, not a digger, and carries herself with a calm, ladylike charm, enjoying both indoor and outdoor time—especially if it includes pets, snacks, or lounging in the sunshine. She delights in treats like dried chicken, salmon, Slim Jims, bone broth, and even a bit of cheese when she’s feeling fancy. With no known behavior issues, Precious is truly a gem: sweet, gentle, and endlessly affectionate, she adores snuggling into a big fluffy bed, soaking up attention, and simply being with her people. She would thrive in just about any loving home, bringing her quiet grace, warm companionship, and even a fondness for old movies—especially those starring Cary Grant!—making her the PYR-fect, classy addition to a lucky family. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
