3/14/26: Foster to Adopt Home Needed! Everyone meet one of our newest arrivals, Ruffles This 18# presumed Yorkshire Terrier mix boy was originally found as a stray in Louisville, KY with no owner stepping up to reclaim him. Nervous in the crowded city shelter, we were asked to help him get out. We couldn't say no. Ruffles is a bouncy, happy boy probably just a year old and very puppy like. He is enjoying the company of other dogs in his foster home and like's having a companion to play with. He would likely do best with another dog or even a playful cat in the home. Ruffles hair is very soft and likely low shedding, but he will need grooming every 4-6 weeks to keep him looking his best. Whether you're looking for a walking partner, slipper carrier or just best guy pal, Ruffles could be your bestest boy! Ruffles is looking for a foster to adopt home to help show him the way and get him training back to speed so he can be the bestest boy possible. We don't think that's too much to ask, do you? Due to his small size and activity level, foster to adopt requirements are: -Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY. -Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. -Being able to bring him back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking him to your current vet to be established. -Homes with children over 8 years old should be ok due to his current size and temperament. -Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match. -Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet. -Due to him being fostered with dogs previously and cat tested, he shoukd be ok with either in the home. An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for Ruffles if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. He had his initial vet checks, is current on vaccines, and has been neutered. Foster to adopt pets are limited to an 80 mile radius of Adams, NY and pets must be takrn to our vets office for care until adoption. All pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Dogs in the home must come to the meet and greet as well to be sure they will get along with the new pet. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required.
