12/20/25 Foster or Foster to Adopt Home Needed! Bonded Pair! Muffin and Frannie are two of the sweetest senior Chihuahuas around. We were contacted by a social worker when their mom was evicted with no options for housing unless she found placement for the dogs. Mom said she was actually thier second home since a friend left them with her over 8 months ago and never returned. She appreciated our help since she was unable to care for the dogs on her own and she hoped they could find a new, forever home together. Muffin (blonde) we believe is 6-8 years old. She is very sweet, outgoing and attention seeking. She likes going to greet people, both men and women alike and is more of the social butterfly. At just 6#, she is very portable and will likely want to go with you no matter what the plan. She will need to be spayed prior to adoption. Frannie (red), we believe is the mom and ~10 years old. She is a bit shy but shows no aggression at all. She is ~7# and will need some dental work done as well as to be spayed prior to adoption. Due to their size and temperament, we are looking for the following in foster or foster to adopt homes: -Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY. -Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. -Being able to bring them back to our vets office in Adams if additional care will be needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking them to your current vet to be established. - They will soon ne cat/dog tested -Adult homes or homes with children over 8 years old should be fine since they seem even tempered -Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match. -Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet. An adoption donation of $500 is being asked for the pair if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. They had an initial vet check, are current on vaccines, dewormings and prescription flea and tick medications and they will be spayed prior to adoption.
