AvailableMuffin is a small, senior female Chihuahua currently in Lacona, NY. She is house trained, vaccinated, and will be spayed before adoption. Her friendly, outgoing personality makes her a great companion for nearby adopters who can offer a caring and stable home.
About Muffin
Muffin and her companion Frannie are a bonded pair of senior Chihuahuas looking for a fresh start together after their previous family could no longer care for them. Muffin, the blonde of the duo, falls in the 6-8 year age range and stands out as the more social oneâshe loves greeting people and quickly makes friends with both men and women. Her portable 6-pound frame means sheâll happily tag along for any adventure or errand. Muffin is seeking a foster or foster-to-adopt home within about 80 miles of Adams, NY, and sheâll need to be spayed before adoption is finalized. Frannie, likely the older of the pair at around 10, is a gentle, slightly shy red Chihuahua with no signs of aggressionâshe just needs a little time to build trust. At 7 pounds, sheâll also require some dental care and spaying prior to adoption. These girls are even-tempered and would do best in adult homes or with children over 8. If youâve got experience with other pets, the rescue asks that your current animals are up to date on vaccines and vet visits. A home visit and a meet-and-greet are part of the adoption process, and youâll need to have time for socialization, care, and training. Muffin and Frannie are current on vaccines, dewormings, and flea/tick meds. Adoption is limited to the immediate region and must include a family meeting in person; out-of-area or shipping arrangements arenât possible. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Muffin
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Muffin, being a Chihuahua, adapts well to small apartments or houses and doesnât need a large space to feel comfortable. She enjoys the security of a cozy home close to her people.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Muffinâs breed is content with brisk walks and short play sessions outside. A fenced yard is nice but not essential, as sheâs small and portable enough for outings and park visits.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahuas like Muffin can do well with children who know how to treat small dogs gently; supervised interaction and older kids (like over 8 years old) are usually a better fit.
