About Mellow In Va
This handsome young Pyr is on the lookout for a forever home, and honestly? - Whoever snags him is going to be one lucky family! Mellow came to us through a cruelty investigation in NC after being seized by Animal Control — he arrived severely underweight, but that’s all behind him now and this boy is loving rescue life! A few good groceries later, he's filled out beautifully and is absolutely thriving! If there's one thing Mellow wants you to know about him, it's that he is a PEOPLE guy. Kids, adults, strangers, the vet's entire staff — he'll say hi to every single one of them with the biggest, toothiest smile you've ever seen on a dog. (Yes, he does the toothy grin. Yes, it is just as amazing as it sounds.) He's equally wonderful with other dogs, loving to play with the big dogs (see his videos!), and ignoring the little ones he met on occasion. He’d love a 5-foot fenced yard to run around and play in! On the training front, Mellow knows "sit" and is crate trained — though he would like it noted, for the record, that he finds the crate deeply offensive and would prefer you simply trust him. He is a lover of toys above all earthly things, and if you want to be his absolute best friend, just show up with something plush and squeaky. He also loves going on adventures and exploring new places, so if you're someone who likes to bring your dog along for the ride, Mellow is absolutely your guy. This sweet, smiley boy deserves the world. Could you be the one to give it to him? NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
