"Como II" is an approx 55-lb, 4½-yo spayed female GSD/Husky/?? mix who is friendly, playful and affectionate. Como II is healthy, up-to-date on core vaccinations, and microchipped. Como II is fine with strangers on her own turf once properly introduced, and is friendly beyond her home when approached by strangers. She is good with young children. Como II has lived with a male GSD since she was about six months old, and gets along great with him. Como II met a few of the dogs at GSRSV's Rescue Ranch on 2-18-26, and she did really well--especially for a dog who hadn't been socialized w/ hardly any dogs other than the one she lives with. See elsewhere on this page for a video of Como II romping w/ the GSRSV dogs. Como II does NOT do well with cats. Como II is housetrained and crate-trained. Her people bring her inside during extreme weather and occasionally at other times, but they primarily keep her in their fenced yard. She usually sleeps in a dog house on the front porch. Como II received some basic obedience training when she was first adopted, but nothing since. She is rarely walked on a leash. She does have good off-leash recall within the yard, and exhibited the same when at GSRSV's Rescue Ranch. Como II rides fine in the back of an SUV, but has not traveled much. She enjoys running around with a ball and will occasionally retrieve when it’s thrown. Como II’s person Gloria adopted her four years ago from the Sacramento County ("Bradshaw") animal shelter when she was about six months old. Though Como II has a great personality, Gloria will soon be undergoing knee surgery and will no longer be able to provide adequate exercise for her. Therefore she is seeking a new home for Como II. GSRSV has met Como II and is placing her as a "Program Dog." This means that Como II is available through GSRSV's adoption program while Gloria continues to care for her. Como II is located in Acampo, CA (near Stockton). Her adoption fee is $250.
