About Franco
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Franco is an approximately 5-year-old, 85-pound neutered male German Shepherd Dog who is sweet, playful, and well-mannered. He is healthy, up to date on core vaccinations, and microchipped for safety. Franco gets along with everyone he meets, both inside and outside the home. While he hasn’t been observed with children, his easy-going temperament suggests he would likely do well around them, and he shows no resource guarding over food or toys. Franco is great with other dogs, having previously lived and played with two Golden Retrievers. He would do best in a home with another dog, as he has exhibited some separation anxiety when left alone. Although he hasn’t been observed around small dogs or cats yet, his lack of prey drive toward deer and turkeys on walks is a good sign for compatibility. Franco is fully house trained, with no accidents in the house, and settles quietly in his crate at night or for a couple of hours during the day. He walks easily on leash without pulling and enjoys meeting other dogs during his strolls. Franco knows basic commands like “sit” and “shake,” though he isn’t particularly treat-motivated. He’s a polite passenger on car rides and behaves well with a seat barrier in place. So far, he hasn’t been interested in toys or balls. Franco originally faced abandonment but was rescued and is now thriving in a foster home in Pebble Beach, CA. Thanks to his loving nature, Franco is ready for a fresh start with a dedicated family.
