About Gaston
NOTE: GASTON IS WITH HIS PEOPLE IN ROSEVILLE, CA. GSRSV. HAS NOT MET GASTON. WE ARE LISTING HIM ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS ON THIS WEBSITE TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Gaston" is an approx 60-lb, 2-yo neutered male GSD/Husky who is goofy, playful and somewhat fearful of new people and places. Gaston is healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations. Gaston’s father is a Siberian Husky and his mother is a GSD. Gaston is initially fearful of new people he meets and barks at them, but warms up eventually. Even then, he is uncomfortable when new people want to make close contact with him. He is great with the 11 & 9-yo children he lives with, but is NOT good with children he does not know. Gaston lives with a male Husky (his father) and a Dachshund, and plays well with both of them. Gaston has not had experience with other dogs, however. Gaston has never been around cats, so a home without cats is sought for him. Gaston Is housetrained and is fairly obedient. He has not received any formal obedience training and has had very little experience on a leash. His people do not take him for walks as Gaston gets scared when he sees strangers and other dogs. Gaston’s people keep him in his crate when they are away and also at night. Gaston does OK riding in a car, but can get anxious at times. He is very playful and loves to play fetch and jump on the trampoline. Gaston’s people (Molly & Ian) raised him from a puppy. During that time, another family was living with them and there was lots of activity and children running around—perhaps too much activity for Gaston, which may have led to his fearfulness. Though his family loves him, there have been two incidents in which Gaston nipped a child (other than Molly & Ian’s children). This has forced them to seek a new home for Gaston—one without children. Gaston is located in Roseville. There is no adoption fee for Gaston, but prospective adopters will be carefully screened.
