About Gaston
Start your journey together! Apply now. Gaston is a goofy, playful, and sensitive young German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix seeking a special home through the German Shepherd Rescue of Sacramento Valley. Around 2 years old and weighing approximately 60 pounds, Gaston is already neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He is house trained and has learned fairness in obedience, though he has not had formal training and is still learning leash manners. Gaston was raised from a puppy by his current family and shares his home with his father, a male Husky, and a Dachshund, getting along well with both. While he can play enthusiastically, he's known for being startled by strangers and new places, often barking initially but eventually warming up at his own pace. His fearfulness means he prefers limited direct contact from newcomers. Gaston is wonderful with the children he lives with (ages 9 and 11) but is not comfortable with unfamiliar children, so he needs a home without kids. He has never been exposed to cats, so a feline-free environment is sought for him. Gaston's days often include crate time when his family is away, and he spends nights there as well. He can be anxious during car rides but enjoys playful activities like fetch and even bouncing on a trampoline! Although he's had a loving upbringing, two incidents of nipping unknown children mean his people are looking for an adults-only home willing to let him acclimate at his own pace. There is no adoption fee, but adopters will be carefully screened to ensure the best fit for Gaston. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
