About Suomi
Suomi (pronounced "sue-me") draws his name from the Finnish word for Finland, but whether he speaks Finnish or hails from there remains his secret. In his foster home, he’s left his feral roots behind and learned the perks of companionship, though he still needs time and space to settle in. If you’re patient, he’ll quietly follow you around, greeting you at the door and waiting for soft chin scratches, ear rubs, or gentle strokes down his back. He’s up front about his boundaries—if he needs a break, you’ll get a small hiss or a strategic retreat, but his affection grows with trust, showing up as a barely-there purr. Suomi loves spending time with other cats, cuddling or playing with his foster brother, and batting around stuffed mice. His favorite treat is Churu, which makes making friends with him a little easier. He’s what you’d call a “cat’s cat” and really thrives with company—he’s best paired with his pal Malachi or another playful, affectionate feline. Young children would likely overwhelm him, but with a calm dog willing to keep a respectful distance, he might adjust nicely after a patient introduction. For someone ready to invest a little patience and a lot of heart into a cat with a quiet spirit, Suomi (and maybe Malachi) are waiting. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
