About Petunia

Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today. Meet Petunia, a sweet, squishy-faced Rottweiler girl whose early life was shaped by isolation during the COVID shutdown. She didn't have the tools needed to navigate the big, busy world and was picked up as a stray after being startled by fireworks. Through the kindness and efforts of shelter staff and her rescuers, Petunia is blossoming into a loving companion and ambassador for her breed. At around 2-3 years old, she is small for a Rottweiler at 75 pounds, has a short black and chestnut coat, and is both spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Petunia knows basic commands, is crate trained, and delights in playing with her male foster brother. She remains shy and wary of strangers, but her confidence grows each day with patient guidance. Her ideal home is one with adults committed to her continued training and socialization, as she currently isn’t suited for a household with children. Petunia hasn’t been tested with cats. It's important that her new home has a secure, visible, physical fence (no invisible fencing) and a sturdy, safe crate. She will need a fenced yard where she can safely play fetch, which she loves. Potential adopters must be located in Western Washington or possibly Northern Oregon; meet and greets will take place in the Port Orchard area. Only homes with like-sized dogs or no other pets will be considered. The rescue requires a visible fenced yard attached to the house, and strict crate criteria due to her safety needs. Out-of-state adoptions are not considered. If you have the commitment and environment Petunia needs, she is waiting to thrive in your home and show you the true Rottweiler spirit. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
