About Bear
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Bear came to us from a loving home in Eastern Washington and has spent 17 months thriving in his foster home. With his impressive size—he weighed in at 125 pounds at his last vet visit—Bear is definitely living up to his name, though 'Teddy' fits him just as well! At 8 years old, he adores people of all ages, even winning over the vet with his loveable nature. Although Bear was raised with another small dog and gets along with his foster siblings (including a Rottweiler and a Chihuahua), meeting new dogs can initially make him anxious and reactive, often barking or lunging. He has shown that with patience and slow introductions, he can enjoy the company of other dogs, but he may do best as the only pet in a peaceful home. Bear is crate trained, house trained, and working hard on his manners—especially curbing his curiosity for counters. He's eager to please, knows basic commands, and shines with force-free training. Watching Bear happily roll in the grass is a treat, and his playful high-fives are sure to win your heart. Bear is looking for his forever home within Washington State, with the possibility of Oregon, Idaho, or BC adopters. Ready to welcome this special senior? If so, he’ll fill your home with joy, laughs, and lots of love. As a fun fact, Bear's birthday makes him a Cancer, a zodiac sign known for loyalty and a loving heart.
