About Murphy
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet sweet Murphy! This lovable two-year-old small mixed-breed boy is a true rescue success story—he narrowly avoided euthanasia as a puppy due to a minor medical hiccup, and now he’s thriving and ready for his forever family. Murphy weighs 18 lbs and boasts a beautiful black face with a spotted, short coat—a striking look that matches his unique DNA blend: mostly Chihuahua and cattle dog, with a hint of Pomeranian and Boston Terrier. Murphy is known for being exceptionally sweet and affectionate, and he truly adores being around people and other dogs. He’s crate trained and would love a home where someone is around most of the day. Murphy thrives when he has another playful small dog as a companion and would do best in a home (not an apartment) with children over 5. For safety, he cannot be placed in homes with a chain-link fence. A home trial week is part of the adoption process, and applicants must reside in the Dallas Metroplex or nearby areas to be considered. Fun fact: Murphy’s birthday makes him a Capricorn—these pups are known for their loyal and devoted natures! Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Murphy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chihuahua and Chiweenie mixes typically thrive in a loving indoor home with attentive companionship. Due to their size, they are well-suited for houses with secure yards and prefer homes where someone is home most of the day.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
These breeds enjoy access to a small, secure yard for play and potty breaks, but they don’t require large amounts of space. Regular short walks and supervised playtime are usually sufficient.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahua and Chiweenie mixes are generally good with respectful, older children. They do best in homes without very young children, as their small size makes them more vulnerable to accidental injury.
