Sandy came to the rescue on the heels of a rough situation—her original owner was going through a tough time, and Sandy found herself out in the cold, literally. Along with her companion Pixie, Sandy weathered the elements before making it safely to caring hands. At just over 3 years old, Sandy is a small, white and cream mixed-breed Chihuahua/Chiweenie with a short coat, and she weighs about 12 lbs. She hasn't yet mastered house training, but her gentle heart and sweet demeanor truly stand out. Sandy gets along with other dogs (as long as they're not large), as well as cats and children over 5. Sandy needs to live in a home without large dogs or small children, and apartment life isn't a fit for her. Her adopters will need to be home more often than not, giving her plenty of time and attention.
