About Lizzie
Meet Lizzie, a little survivor with a big heart. At just one year and six months old, Lizzie weighs in at a petite 8 lbs and has already overcome more than her share of trouble. She was rescued darting through traffic, only to end up abandoned for a larger dog. Despite it all, Lizzie has held onto her affection for people—she practically melts into her favorite human and just wants to be close, whether snuggled up or darting after toys. Her energy is obvious in her playfulness and her knack for brightening a room. Lizzie is good with other dogs (as long as they aren't large) and fits in smoothly with cats, making her a flexible pick for households with multiple pets. She isn't house trained yet, so expect to invest a bit of patience. Apartments won't work, and homes with kids under 5 aren't the right fit—Lizzie likes a bit of space and quiet. She needs someone who can be home much of the time, as she craves attention and stability after so much upheaval. You can foster or adopt, and there's a home trial to make sure it’s a good match. Lizzie is in Grand Prairie, TX. If you want a devoted companion with a whole lot of love to give, she’s ready. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Lizzie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Lizzie, part Chihuahua and Whippet, does best in a calm, single-family home with space to move around. She’s not suitable for apartment life and needs an environment where someone is often home.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While Lizzie is small, she will thrive with regular access to a fenced yard where she can explore and play safely. A home with outdoor space, not an apartment, fits her best.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Lizzie’s breeds can be gentle, but she isn’t suitable for homes with children under 5. Older, respectful kids may be a better match.
