About Leo
Leo is a 10-year-old yellow Lab who spent some time in Sacramento as a stray before landing in foster care. He weighs around 75 lbs and is neutered. Leo has some vision loss due to progressive retinal atrophy—he mostly sees light and shapes and is night blind—which means he sometimes bumps into things but quickly learns to navigate new spaces. Despite this, Leo keeps a cheerful attitude. He wags that big Lab tail, charms you with a friendly demeanor, and loves a good squeaky toy, even if it takes him a minute to find it. He’s been great with the other dog in his foster home and just wants to stick close to his people. Leo knows basic commands like sit, shake, and lie down, is both potty and crate trained, and is making quick work of the doggie door. He walks on leash with enthusiasm, though it’s something he’s still learning to master. He’s soft-mouthed, shows no guarding behavior, and generally just wants to be by your side. Leo would do well with a backyard where he can hang out in the grass. His gentle spirit, trusting nature, and love of company make him a good fit for someone who can be around often. He’s up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to meet folks in Pleasanton. This senior Lab just wants a cozy forever home to call his own. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
