About Turner

Turner was born on a ranch in Central Texas alongside his five siblings, with an Akbash as his mother and likely an Akbash or Great Pyrenees as his father. Growing up surrounded by goats and longhorn cattle, he's already used to being around livestock and other working guardian dogs. Turner has received three sets of vaccinations, regular deworming, and is kept up to date on preventives. As per Texas law, Turner will be neutered, and his adoption will be finalized only after this requirement is met. Turner can transition into life as a family companion or as a livestock guardian. Whichever path, he’ll need consistent training and thoughtful supervision—whether that's crate-training and mastering house manners or learning appropriate behavior around livestock. Turner hasn’t met chickens and only knows goats and cattle, but he’s had some limited exposure to barn cats. He’ll need proper introductions and oversight if living with cats at home. Turner gets along with other dogs and is well on his way to becoming a confident addition to the right home or ranch. Start your journey together! Apply now.
