About Miko
Meet Miko, a delightful 10.5-year-old Great Pyrenees/Rough Collie mix. This impressive boy weighs around 80 pounds, sporting long legs that seem to belong to a runway model. He truly deserves a cozy retirement filled with love and comfort, especially after having faced some tough times. Miko’s journey back to us was quite a saga. He was initially adopted from our rescue but found himself wandering alone after his owner’s passing and, well, a series of unfortunate events. Thankfully, a microchip brought him back, revealing the extent of neglect he endured. Underneath his fluffy coat, he came back to us in dreadful condition—skin and bones, plagued by itching and discomfort. Despite all he has gone through, Miko's spirit shines bright. He’s reserved and cautious around new people, taking his time to warm up. Gentle souls with treats usually win his affection. Miko has become more comfortable with his foster family, increasingly approaching them for attention. However, he may need a bit of time to adapt to newcomers, much like a retired detective piecing together the puzzle of trust. He’s great with dogs and lives peacefully with his dog-savvy feline friends, though he appreciates a calm roommate. Miko is best suited to a quieter home, preferably with older children aged 12 and up. Opting for low-energy companionship is wise, as Miko enjoys lounging more than hiking. This lovable gentleman is house trained and walks decently on a leash. He doesn’t demand rigorous activities; rather, he prefers the senior luxury of an orthopedic bed and leisurely strolls. Appropriately gentle and loving, Miko is ready to start a new chapter in a caring home. Are you the one to give Miko the loving home he deserves? Click apply to start the adoption process.
