He endured a tough time there, and we’re grateful we could provide him the fresh start he desperately needs. When George arrived, he was in rough shape. With a thin coat and looking overwhelmed, it was clear he had been under stress. Yet, his sweet nature shined through. He embodies the spirit of an Aussie who just missed out on essential life experiences. In new situations, especially busy ones, George can feel anxious and uncertain, needing a patient hand to help him build his confidence. He generally warms up to people quickly, but establishing trust is key. George adores affection and will lean in for pets, although he might be wary and mouthy with unfamiliar faces. Slow introductions are essential to ensure he feels safe. Once he trusts you, he transforms into an absolute love bug. George is fantastic with familiar dogs and delights in being part of a pack. However, he can react to unfamiliar dogs in public, so ongoing socialization and patience are a must. He usually calms down and settles after a proper introduction.
