He’s known for his loyal, loving personality and needs an owner with herding breed experience to help him thrive.

About Cashew

Cashew is a striking Australian Shepherd looking for his forever home or a dedicated training foster. At 3 years old, he's a devoted shadow who will warm your side and melt into a puddle of cuddles. Raised indoors, he's house trained, crate trained, and happiest following his person from room to room—a true Velcro dog. He absolutely loves food, is whip-smart, and is athletic enough to run laps in a fenced yard before collapsing on the couch for some head scratches. You’ll find he’s quiet and easy in the home, unfazed by storms, and even enjoys car rides. Outside, Cashew brings that classic Aussie drive: he loves to race around, wrestle, and stay engaged with his environment. While he does well with calm, larger female dogs, he’s reactive and sometimes aggressive toward other dogs on leash, and he cannot go to a home with small dogs, cats, or children. Cashew will need an experienced herding breed or Aussie owner committed to ongoing positive-reinforcement training. He thrives on structure and direction, and he’s a quick learner when treats are in the mix. If you have a secure yard, experience with herding breeds, and a spot on your couch for a loyal companion, Cashew could be your perfect match. Cashew is currently being fostered in Ontario, CA.
