Meet Melodie, a 6-year-old female Labrador Retriever overflowing with sweetness. Weighing in at 70 lbs, she has a lovely short coat of yellow that shines with the promise of brighter days ahead. Melodie was rescued from a challenging hoarding situation, along with over 50 other dogs, and has been receiving extensive medical care and love since. Despite her hard past, she demonstrates remarkable resilience and settles well into her foster home. Melodie has adapted beautifully, getting along with both the resident dog and her foster family. She's house-trained and crate-trained, enjoying the simple things like wandering in the backyard, joining her people in daily activities, and having leisurely walks. She prefers to sleep through the night either in her crate or snuggled up next to her foster's bed, which shows her affectionate nature. While Melodie can be a bit shy in the car due to her unfamiliarity with it, she's eagerly ready to adapt, especially if it leads to fun adventures. She thrives on attention, loves pets, and enjoys chewing on paper—just a little quirk to keep in mind. Melodie is also sociable, getting along with kids, other dogs, and even cats, looking for a family that can include her in their life. A home with fewer stairs would be an added bonus for her. Currently located in San Francisco, CA, Melodie is fully vaccinated and microchipped, and her heartworm test came back negative. Although she requires a little time to recover from an ear infection and needs to wait for her anemia to improve before being spayed, she’s ready for a loving permanent home.
