About Dwight
Meet Dwight, a charming yet socially awkward pup on a journey to find his forever home. This playful guy is one of the few remaining dogs from the recent Sussex County hoarding situation. While he took a bit longer to come out of his shell compared to his cousins Champ and Kurt, Dwight is showing his mischievous side more each day. At just about a year old, he weighs around 10 lbs and features long, slightly clumsy legs reminiscent of an Italian Greyhound. He's a unique mix, likely including some Chi, Min Pin, and Jack Russell in his background. Unlike his relatives, Dwight isn't a crazy climber, making him easier to contain despite his luxating patellas. He's still figuring out the cuddle game, but he's a big fan of squeaky toys and loves a can of squeeze cheese. Dwight does well with other dogs and needs a furry friend to help him adjust in a quieter adult home, ideally with a secure fence. He's working on housebreaking and is already crate-trained, retreating to his cozy crate when nervous. Given his history, he can be a flight risk if he gets loose, so extra care is essential when entering and exiting your home. Potty training will come with time and patience; after all, building trust takes a little while. If you're ready for a sweet, silly companion who needs your understanding and kindness, Dwight might just be the right fit for you. Click apply to start the adoption process.
