About Cheddar Cheezdoodle
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Say “cheese”! Meet Cheddar, the endearing scaredy-doodle with a heart full of potential. This sweet young dog was found abandoned, his history unknown, but it's clear he was once a beloved companion—he arrived neutered and freshly groomed. Cheddar is a nervous little guy, sometimes defensive with fast movements or certain handling, but given patience and time, he becomes sweet and seeks comfort on his own terms. Once he starts to trust, you'll be delighted by his expressive eyes and the almost conversational way he tries to communicate his needs, whether he's asking for a snack, a stroll, or just some playtime. Recently, Cheddar has begun to warm up to other dogs in his foster home, even starting to play with them, showing glimpses of the joyful pup within. We estimate he’s a mix of mini goldendoodle, mini labradoodle, or perhaps an oversized mini poodle—about 22 pounds and around two years old, with an adorable curly coat in lovely golden tones. He's been vetted (bravely endured with a muzzle!), brought up to date on vaccinations, and is searching for a calm, adult-only home that will give him the gentle introduction, space, and patience he needs to blossom. Our organization is now arranging individual meet-and-greets in Northern NJ for potential adopters, with all communication handled via email. Cheddar is currently in a foster home, awaiting a family ready to help him build trust and find security once again. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
