About Mayadiabetic
Mayadiabetic is a ten-year-old miniature poodle/schnauzer mix who came into rescue under tough circumstances—her owners moved out and left her at the local pound. She was underweight and matted, and it turns out she’s blind and diabetic. Despite all this, Maya has a forgiving spirit and soaks up attention, crying until you pick her up and set her on the bed with you. She’s a champ about her twice-daily insulin injections and will go to the bathroom outside when given the chance. As she can’t see, Maya needs gentle dogs around her, the kind who won’t be bothered if she accidentally bumps into them. Currently she’s wearing a Libre sensor while her blood sugar gets regulated, and the rescue is committed to finding her a home that can give her the care she deserves. Even with her challenges, Maya is otherwise healthy, eager for affection, and has lots of life left in her. She’s been loved in foster care, and she’s ready for someone special to give her the safe, soft landing she should’ve always had. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Mayadiabetic
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Mayadiabetic, as a miniature poodle/miniature schnauzer mix, does best in a calm, safe home where she can receive close supervision and care due to her special medical needs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A small, secure yard or supervised walks are enough for Mayadiabetic’s breed mix. She enjoys outdoor time but doesn't require a lot of space.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Miniature poodles and schnauzers are often good with older, gentle children, but because Mayadiabetic is blind and diabetic, a quieter home with adults or older kids who understand her needs is best.
