About Forrest
Meet Forrest, an eight-month-old Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd mix who weighs 70 pounds. This big, sweet, dorky boy is just beginning to explore the world around him. He came to us after being rescued along with six other dogs, and everything outside his previous indoor life is new and a bit overwhelming for him. Forrest has a gentle, loving nature. Though he's large in size, he's still a baby at heart, soft and unsure. He flourishes with attention when he feels safe, responding to kind voices and calm handling. New experiences can be daunting, and he’s still working on leash training, which can confuse him at times. Forrest needs a patient, understanding adopter who can help him gain confidence at his own pace. He’s looking for a calm, supportive home where he can learn that the world isn't as scary as it seems. With time, reassurance, and gentle guidance, Forrest has the potential to grow into a deeply loyal companion. If you have the heart to help this nervous boy find his footing, Forrest is ready to take that journey with you. Forrest will be available for adoption starting June 23, 2026, at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center in Yakima, WA. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
