About Kaito
Kaito is a 5-year-old Alaskan Malamute with a mellow, affectionate nature and a big presence at 95 lbs. He’s calm, gentle, and happiest when he’s out on a walk or soaking up attention. Kaito is house trained, handles himself well on a leash, and enjoys rides in the car. He knows how to sit and give paw, and he’s eager to please. Friendly with strangers and other dogs, Kaito adapts easily to meeting new people. He’s a dedicated dad to Alfita, Bling, Chico, and Junior (though they’re all ready to find homes independently). Kaito fits in best with older kids, but he’s only had limited time with very young children. He isn’t a candidate for homes with cats—he really needs a cat-free environment. Despite the reputation of his breed, he’s done fine with short fences so far. Kaito needs a new home because his person is facing health struggles. He’s the kind of loyal companion that brings steadiness and warmth. Increasingly, foster-to-adopt options are available, so you and Kaito can make sure it's a good fit before a full commitment.
