About Charlie
Charlie is the standout among the Peanut's siblings—a big presence with an even bigger heart. After coming from a tough situation where all four dogs were underfed and neglected, Charlie has proven himself resilient and eager for a second chance. He’s currently filling out, already weighing in at a solid 57 lbs and expected to grow into the low 60s. With a black and white coat that invites attention and a short, easy-care length, he’s impossible to overlook. Charlie lives to be close to his people and thrives on affection. He tends to get jumpy and is very needy, so families with small kids may want to proceed thoughtfully or be ready for some training as everyone adapts. He’s shown good manners with his siblings and seems interested and friendly toward other dogs, but hasn't yet had much exposure outside that circle. With the right guidance, Charlie’s ready to blossom in a safe, comfortable home where he can be the main character in someone’s life. He’s house trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. Charlie’s just waiting for the right person to give him the long-term love he missed out on. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Charlie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Charlie, a Cattle Dog and Alaskan Malamute mix, does best in homes with space for activity and human interaction. He’ll thrive where he can get regular companionship and ample time outdoors.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Charlie’s breed mix typically needs a yard or regular outdoor access, as both Cattle Dogs and Malamutes are active by nature. A secure, fenced area is ideal for letting him burn energy safely.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While Charlie is very affectionate, his jumpy and needy behavior means homes with small children should use caution or be ready for extra supervision and guidance as everyone settles in together.
