AvailableAbout Lenny In Md
Lenny is everything people love about the Great Pyrenees breed—calm, devoted, intelligent, and full of that charming independent spirit. This handsome boy came to rescue alongside his female partner from a loving home that was forced to surrender them because their neighbor was abusing the dogs. Through it all, Lenny has remained steady, loving, and full of trust. Lenny is a gentle, easygoing companion who thrives on being part of a family. He is calm and affectionate, always happy to be nearby without being overly demanding. True to his watchful Pyr nature, he enjoys quietly keeping tabs on “his people”—sometimes quite literally! Lenny has learned how to open doors and will occasionally let himself into bedrooms just to check in and say hello. He’s exceptionally smart, listens well and is very responsive. He is learning his basic commands and has already mastered “down.” Lenny understands what you’re asking of him—he just may occasionally weigh his options first, in true Great Pyrenees fashion! He’s also playful and social, getting along wonderfully with cats and other dogs and enjoying time spent running and interacting with his canine friends. Visitors of all ages will get an alert bark and a friendly welcome from him. His ideal home will have a 5-foot fenced yard and at least one other doggie playmate. Lenny is truly a joy to be around. He combines intelligence, affection, and a touch of lovable independence into one wonderful package. Whether he’s walking politely on leash, playing with friends, or popping in to check on you, Lenny brings warmth, personality, and a quiet devotion that makes him unforgettable. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
