AvailableAbout Zeus In Ct
This handsome boy is currently in boarding and looking for either a foster or forever home where he can truly shine. Zeus came to us after being surrendered to a shelter in Tennessee — his only "crime" was being so scared of fireworks that he escaped his electric fence to find safety. Can you blame him? This sensitive soul just needs a loving, secure environment to call his own! The good news is that Zeus is a wonderfully well-mannered guy in so many ways. He appears to be housebroken (he keeps his boarding area spotless!), he’s crate trained, and leash trained — and he's an absolute dream to walk. Whether you're strolling through the neighborhood or picking up the pace for a jog, Zeus will happily match your stride. He loves to explore the great outdoors and would thrive with a person or family who enjoys regular adventures together. He’d love a yard with a 6-foot fence to keep him safely contained. Zeus has been around male and female dogs and is perfectly content whether he has fur siblings or rules the roost as an only dog. He's even been tested with a cat — he gave one a curious sniff and then went on about his business like the gentleman he is. Teenage kids are absolutely welcome in his world, too! Out and about, Zeus meets new people just fine, though he may need a moment to warm up to unfamiliar faces. He's proven himself a chill beach bum who LOVES the water, and he rides beautifully in the car once he gets over his initial hesitation about hopping in. He has a soft spot for the quiet life, so he’d love a home without lots of loud noises. Zeus knows "sit," has a medium activity level, and carries himself with the kind of quiet dignity his name demands. He's not a rowdy player, but rather a loyal companion who would love nothing more than long walks and quality time with his people. If you're looking for a regal companion to share your life with, apply now to learn more about Zeus! Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
