Meet Twyla & Her Little Olympians: Athena, Artemis, Apollo & Hermes This beautiful little family has come such a long way together. Twyla is just over a year old herself, and despite still being practically a kitten, she's done an amazing job raising her four babies after they arrived in foster care at only 5 days old. Thanks to lots of love, safety, and care, this crew has blossomed into a happy, playful, social bunch ready to find forever homes of their own. They came to us from our friends at the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter, and have spent the last two months learning all about toys, cuddles, zoomies, and how wonderful indoor life can be. Athena, Artemis, Apollo, and Hermes are exactly what you'd hope for in kittens — curious, entertaining, affectionate, and always ready for fun. Whether they're wrestling with each other, chasing toys across the room, or climbing into laps after playtime, they keep their foster family laughing nonstop. They're extremely social and wonderful with kids. And then there's mama Twyla. Sweet, loving, and finally getting a chance to relax now that her babies are growing up. She enjoys attention and companionship, but she's also ready for a home where she can leave motherhood behind and just be someone's beloved pet. Twyla is thus far leery of dogs, so she'd prefer a dog-free home. The kittens, however, are young enough that they could likely do well with a cat-savvy dog given proper introductions. The kittens should be adopted in pairs or into homes with another friendly kitty to help keep them happy, confident, and entertained. Twyla can be adopted separately or with one of her babies if the perfect match comes along. Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only. All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
