Betha — The Elegant Survivor Betha may have the graceful looks of a princess, but her story didn't begin like a fairy tale. She first appeared last October on the front porch of a kind family in McCarley, Mississippi. She stayed for months, slowly growing rounder, and the family soon realized she was pregnant. They searched for lowcost spay/neuter options but had none nearby. When Betha gave birth to six beautiful kittens, they reached out on Facebook for help — and that's when Operation Colony Cats stepped in. After raising her kittens: Brianna, Dana, Erin, Finn, Patrick and Ronan; now this elegant young mother is finally on the path to the happy ending she deserves. Betha is a patient, devoted mom who adores being brushed. She may need a day or two to feel safe in a new environment, but once she does, she enjoys short lap sessions, gentle affection, and will rub against your legs while chatting softly and looking right into your eyes. Because she relied on her instincts to survive, Betha will do best in a quiet home with no young children and patient adults who can give her the time and space she needs to settle in and blossom. Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only. All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
